My days often centered around my workouts. I would live for the endorphins and the sense of accomplishment. I would push myself in the gym 5-6 days a week for 1-2 hours and love every minute! I worked out for myself, for my body, and for my mind. I loved my schedule and I loved the time I had to myself away from everything.
Favorite exercises: burpees and snatches.
When I first found out I was pregnant I set a goal from day 1 to stay fit and active. I often heard labor and delivery was easier for those that kept there fitness regimen; so I was bound and determined! As my belly grew, adjusting my workouts was a bit tough. I lowered my weights and really listened to my body, but changing up my routine was difficult. My workouts were still very intense; but shorter. I kept up with 5-6 days a week but rarely went over an hour. I was no longer working out just for myself; but I was working out to help a tiny little human grow inside of me to be as healthy as she could be.
Favorite exercises: kettle bell swings, lunges and squats (great for labor!)
Time no longer exists. When I can workout, I do. I cherish my workouts more than I ever have in my whole life! I have a different outlook on my body now too. I would get frustrated when people would say “your body will no longer be the same after birth.” Yes you are correct, however, it will be better I would think. Not only is my body capable of killing intense workouts but it has brought my daughter into this world and has bounced back to allow me to get back to the gym; a place that allows me to just be. I work out now for a different kind of strength; strength for my daughter. It is no longer just about me, but showing her you can do anything you want in life.
Favorite exercises: cardio and push-ups.
